Upgrading Your Headlights To LEDs
The process of upgrading your headlights doesn’t have to be difficult. With all the benefits of LED headlights available at low cost, and easy installation for even non-technical motorists, an LED kit is an essential investment in the long-term future of your motoring.
Can you use CAN Bus LED bulbs in non-CAN Bus applications?
CAN Bus LED bulbs should not be used in non-CAN Bus applications because in most cases they can cause other vehicle circuits to have problems. Electrical systems are much like the flowing water in a river; if a log or other obstacle is placed in its path, the water backs up, but then finds another route.A CAN Bus LED bulb presents more resistance than the stock bulb due to built-in resistors and may cause feedback into other circuits in the non-CAN Bus electrical system.
Direction indicators/hazard warning lamps
All vehicles must have direction indicators which signal your intention to turn. Most vehicles have hazard warning lamps which flash direction indicators in both directions at the same time.
What are load resistors and load equalizers?
A load resistor or equalizer is a common auto aftermarket part for LED lights. The primary job of load resistors is to slow down the rate of electricity that passes through the circuit. A load resistor for the LED light helps mimic the flash requirements of standard factory bulbs without drawing more power.
Load resistors and equalizers stop error messages, hyper-flashing and flickering of the turn signal lights.
