CES 2017: Hands-On With The Ring Floodlight Cam

Ring is a company who has quickly become known for their range of home connected devices. With CES 20being so heavily focused this year on the connected home, it is not surprising that Ring is in attendance. Nor was it surprising when Ring unveiled and introduced its latest security-focused connected device. Although, the type of device that they did announce is not what you might normally associate with being connected.

This is the Ring Floodlight Cam.

Features of the Ring Floodlight Cam

The new Ring Floodlight Cam is an improvement to the conventional motion-activated outdoor light. This design is supposed to improve the safety features of existing devices and provide greater security to users. The traditional outdoor light hasn’t been working too well in fooling ‘fishy’ strangers into believing that somebody may be at home. The connectivity features in the new device are also present in the Ring Stick-Up Cam but has some newly added features.

These features include the siren and the ability to attach it directly to the already existing floodlight outlet. The light can be turned on and off using the Ring app apart from being activated due to motion or some pre-decided schedule.
